The Fun Spot 3

The Fun Spot 3 has been completely transformed into the ideal Smith Mountain Lake vacation rental. We have invested in a full redesign of the outdoor living area with an oversized 1000 sq ft deck, two expansive patios, and a large fire pit. With 8 kayaks, 4 paddleboards, and numerous water toys, your entire group can be enjoying all the lake has to offer. Inside, you will find a totally renovated and expanded kitchen, dining room, and living area designed specifically to meet the needs of large groups. There simply is not another property on the lake that offers the combination of wide water and mountain views, activities, luxurious outdoor living, entertainment, and comfortable accommodations for large groups.

 

The Patio

Upper patio off of the lower level entertainment room with plenty of comfortable seating underneath four ceiling fans, lights, and a deck ceiling for outside enjoyment even when Mother Nature isn’t fully cooperating. Stairway off of the upper patio takes you down to the lower patio fire pit with wood provided for your enjoyment and S’mores! Both patios location is ideal in many ways from the wide water and mountain views, quiet nights at the end of the peninsula, and if that isn't enough, then come the Fourth of July ideal "Front Row Seats" for the spectacular, and well known, Parkway Marina/Saunders Volunteer Fire Department Fireworks Show located at the end of the peninsula!

If that isn’t enough outdoor space then try the 1,250 sq ft deck off of the main level that has dining seating for 20, large 5 burner BBQ, two burner cooktop, large serving island with built in beverage refrigerator.

Still need more space then venture to the end of the deck where you will find a large screen porch with ceiling fan and plush seating for 6.

 

The Dock

  • This 2,600 sq. ft dock offers multiple seating for 35 with wide water and mountain views.

  • A 27 foot floating dock to secure your boat and jet skis with 4 cleats. Water depths on shore end of floater is 6’ and lake end of 17’ at normal lake water levels.

  • Dock racks for 8 kayaks - 6 single person kayaks and 2 double kayaks, 4 Paddle boards, numerous personal floaties to lounge in the water, life jackets for kids to adults, and associated paddles.

The Home

  • Open eat-in kitchen with large breakfast bar, dining table that seats 12, and deck access overlooks the lake and mountain.

  • Kitchen designed with large groups in mind - two full size refrigerators, two full size dishwashers, 6 burner cook top and 2 stoves, full size convection/microwave, prep sink, and plates/silveware/glasses for 36

  • Large billiards room with beverage fridge, built in ice maker, and bar area to enjoy your beverages and snacks while playing some pool!

  • Main level with Queen suite and walk in shower with ADA safety bars

  • Upper level with 3 King Suite rooms and all have their private balcony.

  • All suites have their own 45” smart TV.

  • Lower level entertainment room houses a theatre with seating for 8 in plush leather recliners, as well as a bar area overlooking the theatre with seating for four.

  • Full size bar with dinnerware, glasses, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave to satisfy all of your entertainment needs.

  • Game area in the entertainment level sports foosball, air hockey, arcade game table, darts, and a gaming station and chairs for your competitive spirit. Ping pong table is located on upper patio just off of the entertainment room. Enjoy!

Walk on down and enjoy the lake!
One of the largest docks on the lake (2500 sq ft) and if you want to take your gathering out on the lake you have 8 Kayaks, 4 paddleboards, and plenty of floaties to choose from for relaxing on the lake.
Five separate sitting areas on the dock to comfortably seat 35 family and friends and take in the views while listening to your music over the SONOS speaker system throughout the dock area.

  • Amazing Family Vacation

    I have to say that this home and its owners are awesome. There were 16 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was spacious and having 2 refrigerators, 2 ice makers and another refrigerator downstairs was perfect. We managed to fill them all up including the fridge in the outdoor kitchen and at the dock. The views were incredible! The dock was our favorite place to hang out. Plenty of seating as well as Kayaks and space for our boat. The kids loved the hanging chairs. We used the fire pit for s’mores, the kids had a blast. The lower deck was full of seating and fun games. The lower level was great for the kids to spread out and play. They loved the theatre seating for cartoons and movies. We all had our own rooms with private bathrooms. We have stayed at SML for our Family Vacation before and this home was by far the best ever. All in all we made so many amazing memories and we will definitely be coming back!

  • Best Family Vacation Ever!

    It's a wonderful place for adults and kids of all ages. Plenty of "toys"-kayaks, paddle boards, floats, home theater, well stocked kitchen, outdoor spaces with seating for everyone. Shaded dock is a large outdoor "room"-loved it all!

  • The Best

    This is our fourth year renting on SML and this property was the best by far. The location couldn’t be better with views of the mountains and right on the main part of the lake. It is very well appointed with modern kitchen appliances, ample dishes and even dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. The owners were responsive to my questions and both the check in and check out processes were smooth. The layout for our family was ideal with four “adult” bedrooms each with their own bathroom. The downstairs is perfect for kids with lots of beds and their own theater. The outdoor space is also well thought out with plenty of places to sit and lots of shade. We immediately reserved a week for next year as we finally feel like we found the perfect property to rent each summer for our lake week.

    The property exceeded all expectations. The property was immaculate upon our arrival and offered every imaginable convenience. Prior to, during, and after our stay the owner was responsive to our every need, courteous, and helpful. I have rented vacation homes for family getaways in the past from Nantucket to South Carolina - this property was unquestionably the best.

  • Beautiful home with great view!

    House is stunning! Kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Owners have thought of everything to make the home comfortable and welcoming. Our group of 11 (ages 16-77) all loved the home. Lake view is nice from the upper deck. Plenty of comfortable seating. Inside great room is big enough for everyone to hang out with kitchen and pool table and nicely furnished living area. Owners were very helpful and responsive to questions. We saw very little marina traffic even though it is right next door. It did not bother us at all during our stay in May. We had a lovely time!

  • Best Vacation Property Ever!

    Fun Spot 3 was the best rental property my family has ever had the pleasure of staying at. Everything was thought of from water toys (Kayaks, paddleboards), activities (ping-pong, pool, darts, cornhole, air hockey), to kitchen utensils (best stocked kitchen). The views and lake/marina access are perfect and make it easy to just arrive and enjoy your time. The fire pit is wonderful to sit around on the cooler lake/mountain nights. The outdoor furniture is amazingly comfortable to sit and enjoy the views. This is my second stay at a Fun Spot location and we have already reserved our third. Cannot wait for our next trip to Smith Mountain Lake.
